The News

I used to watch the News, especially the 10:00 p.m. News.
I grew up in a family that watched the News.
All.The.Time.
I know that my parents still watch it, religiously.

A few years ago, I quit watching it. I can't remember why, I just did. I think it started to bother me. All the depressing things going on in the world mixed with all of the fluff. I can't remember, I just stopped watching it.

Except for in the mornings, I turn the news on so I know what the weather and traffic are like, but of course I hear all of the other news as well.

So, I (reluctantly) watch Fox13 News, mostly because:

1.The kidlets love Big Budah
2.We don't have cable and our box only gets good reception on 13
3.I think that the anchors are a bit twitty, so they make me laugh. They don't seem to know how to deliver a sad or sobering story, I take it all with a grain of salt.
As soon as the weather or traffic come on, my eyes and ears are glued.

Yesterday however, for some unknown reason, as I was cleaning, I watched the News
ALL DAY!
Seriously, I have no idea why, I would switch the channels and keep it on a channel that was airing news, even with bad reception!

When Aaron came home, I told him I had been watching the news all day and that I thought I had better stop watching it, so I did.

Aaron and I had a very nice conversation about his day and some other things - including, discussing stuff I had seen on the news. After our conversation, Aaron went downstairs to do some stuff.

I began watching the news again!

I KNOW!
I don't know what I was thinking!

I won't tell you what the story was (I don't even know what channel it was), but they were talking about a statistic among Americans. I couldn't believe the statistic! So, I YELLED at the television,

"WHAT? I DON'T BELIEVE THAT AT ALL!"

To that, Aaron hollered back,

"Maybe you should stop watching the News!"

I did.

Then I started thinking back on my day. Had I been yelling at the television all day?

Embarrassingly, I admit...indeed, I had.

Now, I remember why I don't watch the News, it pisses me off.

I'm sorry, but

Seriously?

What in the hell was the casting director hearing when he/she heard her voice?

(Vanessa Hudgens)

IT IS AWFUL!

A NASAL NIGHTMARE!

The first time that I wanted to kill myself while having to listen to her sing was when she first opened her mouth in "High School Musical." I honestly thought it was a joke! Luckily we don't watch that movie anymore, we never really watched that much in the first place.

Piper and I were making friendship bracelets the other night while listening to "Princess Disney Mania," I don't mind the CD too much, I think that a lot of the girls are way overboard on the whole 'pop' idea, but at least they have a quality tone. However, as soon as "Colors of the Wind" came on, I again wanted to kill myself!! I cannot believe I listened to the entire song, I gagged a few times and had to plug my ears the entire time.

SERIOUSLY, SHE HAS A HORRIBLE VOICE!

OH. MY. GOSH.

PLEASE TELL ME THAT I AM NOT ALONE IN MY THINKING!!!

I know that Piper agrees, she said to me,

"And it really sucks that she is so bad, because 'Colors of the Wind' is one of the best songs!"

It is possible that I might be a little obsessed

I do not own an iPod
(However all three other members of my family do)

I do own an iPhone
(mostly because Aaron is a Mac freak, but I'm so glad I do and that he is)

The only music on my iPhone is this

The CD's are in my car, and that is what I am usually listening to.
(my car is fourteen years old, that is why I still play CD's in it)

Let me clarify

My last post was in NO WAY an announcement!

We are NOT expecting any babies!

We will NEVER AGAIN be expecting any babies!

It is something that is literally IMPOSSIBLE!

So, if we were to expect a baby (or babies), trust me....the world would know
- from the media attention we would be receiving -
because it would be a
MIRACLE
!

My last post was just a memory.

I saw a commercial for the candy bars and it sparked a memory.

A funny memory, but only a memory.

NOT AN ANNOUNCEMENT!

Maybe funny, maybe not, but

We thought it was!

We are SO clever!

When we found out in November of 2000 that our baby was a girl, we gave out Mounds candy bars to our friends and co-workers!

When we found out in January of 2003 that our second baby was a boy, we gave out Almond Joy candy bars to our friends and co-workers!

Why?

Because...

"Almond Joy's have nuts,
Mounds don't!"

Most people thought it was a cute idea...

We may have started something, I've heard of a few people doing it since.

Am I asking for too much?

All I want is to be able to

POTTY IN PEACE!

HONESTLY!

Whenever I have to use the bathroom and the kidlets are home,
they are near!

I HAVE to lock the door,
otherwise they will come right in,
sometimes locking it doesn't help,
they just get a coin

or a hair clip

(it's a pocket door)
and unlock it!

If they don't unlock it, they just stand right outside the door talking to me, asking me questions!

SERIOUSLY?

How hard is it to wait?

It's not like I'm Aaron and spend an hour in there!

It's FIVE MINUTES...TOPS!

FIVE MINUTES...AT THE MOST!

WHY, I ask, WHY CAN'T I POTTY IN PEACE?

Chocolate Chip Cookies

I TOTALLY made chocolate chip cookies!

They are delicious!

Nobody has to know my secret!

Piper told me that it is okay that I use the all ready made cookie dough because the cookies get made quicker and all kids want cookies quicker!

She's such a SMARTIE!

You know you are getting old...

Or, you know that your parents

ARE OLD

when...

you go to use their bathroom and you see this

(in case you are wondering, it's a railing to help mom stand up)

My parents have always been old!

They were old (according to the times) when I was born.

Of all my friends, I had the oldest parents.

It never bothered me.

But what does bother me, is that now...they really are old.
I mean literally they are what you think of when you think of an
'Old couple.'

Dad is pretty much deaf.
Mom is constantly in pain.
They are slow.

It's weird.

Jeez!!

I'm feeling Oh So Strange not blogging...

It's not like I haven't taken a break from blogging before, but it's different this time

...it's because I really truly actually have been crazy busy!

This semester, so far, has been

SO fun,

I have learned SO much,

but I have been

SO busy!

SO TIRED!

I have a little free time (literally...a little) I am going to get a few posts done and have them scheduled for the future.

I feel so out of the loop! I checked my reader...

...I have over 200 things to read!!

That is CRAZY!!

So, sorry if I don't comment on your blogs like I usually do, it's not because I don't love you anymore...

It's because I haven't been reading your blogs!

Because I haven't had time!

I WILL read yours, I PROMISE, it just might take awhile, and I probably won't comment because I feel weird commenting on something that happened awhile ago!!

But please, still comment on mine...

Thanks!!!!

Sugar Cookies

On Tuesday we made Sugar Cookies.

The kidlets were great, they put all the ingredients in the bowls and mixed them all by themselves...until it got too hard, so I took over.

They rolled the dough out themselves.

Cut cookies themselves.

About halfway through the cookie cutting, they were done. So...I finished.

Christmas Cards

Last year I didn't send out Christmas cards because of the lay off, but I still got TONS in the mail...TONS!

This year I have only received a few Christmas cards, is this because I was taken off of the Christmas card lists for not sending cards last year?

Unfortunately, I am not sending out Christmas cards this year either, because of the after effects of the lay off, I mean Aaron was unemployed for 11 months and just recently started work again. I'm still penny pinching, and...I want my kidlets to have a good Christmas, so I decided not to send them again. It does get kind of expensive.

So, my question is...

Am I going to get very few cards again next year because I'm not sending this year?

I LOVE getting Christmas cards from friends, it is something that I look forward to every year, so please, send me one if you have in the past! I promise I will get one out next year.

I will post a cute Christmasy Family picture on the blog to make up for it this year!

Thinking.....

You may have noticed some of the Chinese comments that I am getting on my blog...

DAILY!

It bothers me.

A lot!

I'm trying to figure out if I can block them and not you!

Any of you know how?

I don't want to go private!

I've had the blog for awhile now,

like three years or so!

Not once have I had any problems!

I have a stat counter that I check up on regularly and

NEVER have I had any suspicious activity.

NEVER!

I'm so frustrated, but I will keep you posted.

We have elves!

Amelia and Chester came to our house last year too!

Santa Claus sent them to keep an eye on the kidlets.

Apparently, they report back to Santa and let him know if they are good or bad.

Sometimes, they bring prizes or treats!

Last year, they even brought a Nativity Scene
(they did the 12 days of Christmas with it).

The kidlets wake up in the morning and search the house for them, they have been in the shower, on the chandelier even on the banisters! It's kind of fun.

Here is a picture of them with the prizes that they have brought the kidlets so far this year.

Pez Dispensers, Advent Calendars, Lemony Snickets "The Lump of Coal" and Gel Widow decorations.

Come on ladies!!!

Just because Oprah

"...quit wearing one years ago,"

DOES NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD TOO!

There are reasons that slips are necessary to wear under skirts and dresses! Why they were invented.

Would you like me to tell you a few?

Okay...I will

* When I look at your cute dress or skirt, I don't like to see your panties or their lines! Suddenly your skirt isn't as cute as it could have been.

* Nor do I want to see the silhouette of your legs.

* When the sun shines down directly on your pretty little self and you're wearing a cute light colored springy/summery skirt...I can see
EVERYTHING!
Not just your panties and their lines and the leg silhouettes, but
EVERYTHING!
And honestly, I don't want to see
EVERYTHING!

* I think it is UGLY when your skirt or dress goes in between your legs! You are not wearing culottes or gauchos, if that's the look you were going for, then just wear culottes or gauchos!

* And besides, it's distracting and annoying when you are constantly pulling your skirt out from between your legs. You are only drawing attention to the fact that you are NOT WEARING a slip!

When you DO wear a slip, there are no pantie lines, nor can I see them!

When you wear a slip, I don't see the silhouette of your legs!

When you wear a slip and the sun shines down on your pretty little self, I don't see EVERYTHING!

When you wear a slip, your skirts and dresses will not go in between your legs! They will hang beautifully like they were meant to hang!

Some excuses I've heard for NOT WEARING a slip are;

* Too much static electricity.
-Really? Please. Just get some handy dandy "Static Guard." I have had the same can since I got married (nearly 13 years). It lasts forever. And...it works.

* They're uncomfortable.
-Really? How much do they weigh? Like...less than the smallest measurement of weight? Do you really notice that you are wearing one? Sorry, not a good excuse. And, wouldn't you feel more comfortable if you look better?

* They get all twisted up.
-Solution? Get one that fits. And if they are twisting up because of static electricity...Static Guard.

* Oprah hasn't worn one in years.
-Well Oprah has millions and billions of dollars and nobody really cares whether or not she wears a slip. But, you will notice her skirts go in between her legs often, and it looks stupid. And, who said that Oprah was in charge of the world?

Oprah did say to get a bra fitting. THIS, I agree with!
Why are you all
NOT WEARING slips,
but NOT GETTING A BRA FITTING?

I know that some skirts and dresses are made so a slip isn't necessary...I still wear a slip - I'm a little psycho, I know that - I feel more comfortable. I also know that some skirts are so insanely short you literally can't wear a slip - I choose NOT to wear those skirts, and in my opinion...you should probably choose not to wear those skirts also! Some dresses and skirts actually have a slip built in, okay, it might be okay not to wear a slip with those, but I still do, because the slips that are built in seem to go in between my legs and it bothers me.

So, I guess what I am saying is

PLEASE WEAR A SLIP
Unless you ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY do not have to!

And, go get a bra fitting, really, it will make a world of difference.
