The News
All.The.Time.
I know that my parents still watch it, religiously.
A few years ago, I quit watching it. I can't remember why, I just did. I think it started to bother me. All the depressing things going on in the world mixed with all of the fluff. I can't remember, I just stopped watching it.

Except for in the mornings, I turn the news on so I know what the weather and traffic are like, but of course I hear all of the other news as well.
So, I (reluctantly) watch Fox13 News, mostly because:
1.The kidlets love Big Budah
2.We don't have cable and our box only gets good reception on 13
3.I think that the anchors are a bit twitty, so they make me laugh. They don't seem to know how to deliver a sad or sobering story, I take it all with a grain of salt.
As soon as the weather or traffic come on, my eyes and ears are glued.
Yesterday however, for some unknown reason, as I was cleaning, I watched the News
ALL DAY!
Seriously, I have no idea why, I would switch the channels and keep it on a channel that was airing news, even with bad reception!
When Aaron came home, I told him I had been watching the news all day and that I thought I had better stop watching it, so I did.
Aaron and I had a very nice conversation about his day and some other things - including, discussing stuff I had seen on the news. After our conversation, Aaron went downstairs to do some stuff.
I began watching the news again!
I KNOW!
I don't know what I was thinking!
I won't tell you what the story was (I don't even know what channel it was), but they were talking about a statistic among Americans. I couldn't believe the statistic! So, I YELLED at the television,
"WHAT? I DON'T BELIEVE THAT AT ALL!"
To that, Aaron hollered back,
"Maybe you should stop watching the News!"
I did.
Then I started thinking back on my day. Had I been yelling at the television all day?
Embarrassingly, I admit...indeed, I had.
Now, I remember why I don't watch the News, it pisses me off.

Fairview
Every year we (my mom - which is a whole different story...it's hell)
drive the one hundred and seven miles. Both ways.
Every year we go to the Museum and watch the lacers.
Every year we buy stuff to actually lace ourselves.
Every year we say that we are going to take classes and start lacing.
Every year...we don't start classes and we don't lace ourselves!
Bobbin Lace is something that I have always been interested in!
I've always wanted to do it.
Always.

This year, my dad came along, and so did the kidlets!
So, I took my camera!
I took ONE picture.
Every year, this is where we eat lunch.

I'm pretty sure that there isn't another eating establishment in town.

I'm sorry, but
What in the hell was the casting director hearing when he/she heard her voice?
(Vanessa Hudgens)IT IS AWFUL!
A NASAL NIGHTMARE!
The first time that I wanted to kill myself while having to listen to her sing was when she first opened her mouth in "High School Musical." I honestly thought it was a joke! Luckily we don't watch that movie anymore, we never really watched that much in the first place.
Piper and I were making friendship bracelets the other night while listening to "Princess Disney Mania," I don't mind the CD too much, I think that a lot of the girls are way overboard on the whole 'pop' idea, but at least they have a quality tone. However, as soon as "Colors of the Wind" came on, I again wanted to kill myself!! I cannot believe I listened to the entire song, I gagged a few times and had to plug my ears the entire time.
SERIOUSLY, SHE HAS A HORRIBLE VOICE!
OH. MY. GOSH.
PLEASE TELL ME THAT I AM NOT ALONE IN MY THINKING!!!
I know that Piper agrees, she said to me,
"And it really sucks that she is so bad, because 'Colors of the Wind' is one of the best songs!"

It is possible that I might be a little obsessed
I do own an iPhone
(mostly because Aaron is a Mac freak, but I'm so glad I do and that he is)
The only music on my iPhone is this
The CD's are in my car, and that is what I am usually listening to.

About me (maybe more about us)
Again, you might want to read my disclaimer...
About a year ago I sent a Facebook friend request to a guy that I used to date - However, at the time if you asked him if we were dating, it would be a big fat NO, because we were in a singles ward and you were suppose to keep stuff like that a secret until you were engaged - Honestly, I didn't think anything of my friend request, in fact, most of the boys that I have dated or kissed (back in the day, these two things did not go hand in hand) are my friends. A couple of days later, he sent me a message titled "Friend," I opened it, and this is what he had to say,
I changed her name, oh...and yes, I kept the message, it is still in my in-box!
"Hi Karlyn!
It's good to hear from you. I've gone back and forth with the whole friends request thing and decided that *Nancy* probably wouldn't appreciate it. It's no big deal to me but I think she would be uncomfortable having someone that she knows I dated on my "friends list." I hope you understand..."
It goes on for a few more sentences, but that isn't relevant to my post.
Okay...I'm sorry, but what? I guess I do understand that there are jealous types in the world, I just don't understand why. I obviously am not one of them. My first thought was, "Oh crap! I hope Aaron doesn't feel like he can't be friends with somebody on facebook just because he had dated them!" So, I went and ask him...right then.
He laughed...
He said "no!" While he was still laughing.
I knew what his answer would be, I just wanted to make sure.
We are not a jealous couple.
This is one of the things that seems to surprise people -
I hope that my husband looks at other women!
HE IS A MAN!
It is when he stops looking that I am going to start worrying.
I know his taste, he knows mine.
When we see people that we think the other would like, we point them out!
Then again, if we see some unfortunate looking people we say to each other, "There's your boyfriend/girlfriend!"
We have 'to do' lists
(like on Friends, Ross & Rachel's 'freebie lists'),
but NO, we would never actually 'DO' anybody on our lists,
I mean C'mon!
Here is a link to mine from awhile back.
If I want to go out with my friends or to lunch or dinner with them (even guys), I go!
I don't have to ask his permission.
I let him know because I love and respect him and he has the right to know,
but I don't need his permission.
He knows I am coming home to him.
If he wants to go out with his friends or to lunch or dinner with them (even girls), he goes!
He doesn't have to ask my permission.

I know he is coming home to me.
If you're the jealous type, I'm sorry if you're jealous of us.
I am a wife.
I am probably not the best wife in the world, but I try my hardest.
I love Aaron with all my heart and would pretty much do anything for him
(that might not be entirely true).
Our relationship is a good one.
A TRUSTING ONE.

Learning and Realization
The craziness started in February when I had to 'crew' (for 'Production lab' class) "The Rocky Horror Show." This was when my family realized the commitment I had made to my education. I was gone All. The. Time. I thought when that show was over, I would be back to a regular school schedule...I must have forgotten that I am a Theatre Major.
I had five classes, four were theatre classes. In each one of those classes, I had projects, projects that went way beyond regular homework time: A Set Design Project, that involved learning a computer program..A Sound Design Project, that involved learning a couple of computer programs and tons of searching...AND in one class - Theatre and Theory - I was in a group of six, we made a movie on Feminism, you may have seen it, it was posted on facebook. This was a fun, but not an easy task, it was VERY time consuming. Luckily we got full credit (we totally deserved it).
On top of being a full-time student, I am a full-time Momma. And as most of you know, that is not the easiest job in the world, the most rewarding?
YES!
Easiest?
NO!
Many days I felt like the worst mother EVER!
Many days I wondered if going to school was really worth it.
I guess what I am trying to say is...I've been busy! However, I have learned more than I ever thought I would. I have realized why there are so many people that seem to be professional students - I LOVE it.
I have made some of the greatest friends EVER (sure, I may be 15 years older than them), they are true friends, they are my family away from my family!
THANKS GUYS!
Something I have always known, but it's always nice to be reminded.
I LOVE THESE GUYS SO MUCH!

I know that it has been hard on them. Probably harder on them than it has been on me. They are so strong, so supportive, so amazing, so patient.
THEY ARE MY WORLD, THEY ARE MY ROCKS, THEY ARE MY HEART!

I don't know what I want done.

Do I just want to clean it up a little?
Do I want to go short again?

After reading the menu over and over and over, I finally decided on...
Strawberry Poppy seed Salad in a bread bowl

Do you remember
Well, the shoes in that picture are my favorite shoes.
I got them in March when I went up to Portland.
I wore them everyday until it was too warm to wear them.
At the end of September I started wearing them again...everyday.
Except the days I didn't, like Sundays or the days that I wore boots or other shoes instead, which has only been a couple of times.
I'm wearing them now.
These shoes are absolutely, positively THE MOST comfortable shoes that I have EVER owned. That would explain why I have worn them everyday! Walking around on a rather large campus, comfy shoes are a must!
On Monday, I was admiring my favorite shoes when I noticed the
UNFATHOMABLE!!

A hole! A hole in the first layer of wool! I began to cry (a little).
Unfortunately for you, these shoes are like these pants! I will continue to wear them until they fall off of my feet...unless I can find another pair.
I guess all good things have to come to an end...eventually. Especially if they are shoes (no matter how well made) that you wear every single day.

Umbilical Hernia
Piper was born with one. We took pictures, it was cute.
(taken the night before surgery)She had hers fixed when she was three. Insurance considers it cosmetic after three, and her doctors said that if it didn't fix itself by then, it wouldn't. It looks really cute, almost like a normal bellybutton. She doesn't even have a scar.
(Sorry about the crappy picture)Teague was born with one. We took pictures, it was strange.
(taken the night before surgery)Teague's was much bigger than Piper's. When he was one, I was holding him and noticed that it was hard, so I called the doctor to see if that was normal...it wasn't. He informed me that what was happening was called strangulation and he needed the surgery right away. He had it shortly after that. He doesn't really have a bellybutton, his was so big, the surgeon kinda had to cut it off and sew his tummy together, so he has a straight scar for a bellybutton, it's cool.
(Again, sorry about the crappy picture)I have to say, and I think Aaron will agree, that I miss those bellybuttons! They were SO fun to play with, so soft. And...they made GREAT noises when we squeezed them.
All the doctors said that it isn't hereditary/genetic. But I honestly question that!
Here's a link if you are interested, it's very short and easy to read.
When people ask me or my kidlets if we have innies or outies...well, we can't really answer because we have neither!

My FAVORITE pants...EVER...
I have this pair of pants that I LOVE.
They have been with me for a couple of years now.
I probably wear them much more often than I actually should, but that's how much I LOVE them.
In fact, I probably have them on in most of the pictures that are taken of me...that's pathetic.
I do LOVE them.
They have been with me at my HEAVIEST time.
They have been with me at my SKINNIEST time.
They are wearing out.
They are SO worn out, let me show you:
(this is them from the front, I also have on my favorite shoes...BTW)
(this is them from the back, I LOVE that they are long)
The first thing that happened was this:

The little hooky thingys broke...ON BOTH SIDES...I just tied the 'belt thing' in a knot around the remaining part of the hooky thingys. I was good to go!
Then this:

There use to be some of that ribbon/belt stuff hanging from the snaps. But...one day Teague grabbed them - while I was sitting down - as handles while he was leaning back, the ribbon/belt stuff snapped right off...OF BOTH SIDES...and Teague fell on his butt, with them in his hands. I was sad (for my pants, not Teague, it served him right).
Then this:

I was walking along and my phone fell on the ground. That's right! It fell out of this huge hole in my pocket right on to the ground! I was sad (for my pants, not so much for my phone since I drop it all the time anyway!).
Then this:

I do understand that this is a picture of my ARSE. This hole started out like the one on my left cheek...but just got bigger and bigger and bigger. So, I tried to safety pin it!
That's my underwear that you see.
And now, this:

The belt/ribbon thing just ripped right in half so it no longer wraps around the hooky thingy!
I should probably retire them...I just can't.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Because, for the record, I WILL continue to wear them whether you like it or not. I will wear them until they literally fall off of my body! SO, you gotta help me figure something out.
MM's
1- Favorite pants
2- Skinniest times

Come on ladies!!!
"...quit wearing one years ago,"
DOES NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD TOO!
There are reasons that slips are necessary to wear under skirts and dresses! Why they were invented.
Would you like me to tell you a few?
Okay...I will
* When I look at your cute dress or skirt, I don't like to see your panties or their lines! Suddenly your skirt isn't as cute as it could have been.
* Nor do I want to see the silhouette of your legs.
* When the sun shines down directly on your pretty little self and you're wearing a cute light colored springy/summery skirt...I can see
EVERYTHING!
Not just your panties and their lines and the leg silhouettes, but
EVERYTHING!
And honestly, I don't want to see
EVERYTHING!
* I think it is UGLY when your skirt or dress goes in between your legs! You are not wearing culottes or gauchos, if that's the look you were going for, then just wear culottes or gauchos!
* And besides, it's distracting and annoying when you are constantly pulling your skirt out from between your legs. You are only drawing attention to the fact that you are NOT WEARING a slip!

When you DO wear a slip, there are no pantie lines, nor can I see them!
When you wear a slip, I don't see the silhouette of your legs!
When you wear a slip and the sun shines down on your pretty little self, I don't see EVERYTHING!
When you wear a slip, your skirts and dresses will not go in between your legs! They will hang beautifully like they were meant to hang!
Some excuses I've heard for NOT WEARING a slip are;
* Too much static electricity.
-Really? Please. Just get some handy dandy "Static Guard." I have had the same can since I got married (nearly 13 years). It lasts forever. And...it works.

* They're uncomfortable.
-Really? How much do they weigh? Like...less than the smallest measurement of weight? Do you really notice that you are wearing one? Sorry, not a good excuse. And, wouldn't you feel more comfortable if you look better?
* They get all twisted up.
-Solution? Get one that fits. And if they are twisting up because of static electricity...Static Guard.
* Oprah hasn't worn one in years.
-Well Oprah has millions and billions of dollars and nobody really cares whether or not she wears a slip. But, you will notice her skirts go in between her legs often, and it looks stupid. And, who said that Oprah was in charge of the world?
Oprah did say to get a bra fitting. THIS, I agree with!
Why are you all
NOT WEARING slips,
but NOT GETTING A BRA FITTING?
I know that some skirts and dresses are made so a slip isn't necessary...I still wear a slip - I'm a little psycho, I know that - I feel more comfortable. I also know that some skirts are so insanely short you literally can't wear a slip - I choose NOT to wear those skirts, and in my opinion...you should probably choose not to wear those skirts also! Some dresses and skirts actually have a slip built in, okay, it might be okay not to wear a slip with those, but I still do, because the slips that are built in seem to go in between my legs and it bothers me.
So, I guess what I am saying is
PLEASE WEAR A SLIP
Unless you ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY do not have to!
And, go get a bra fitting, really, it will make a world of difference.
MM's

2-A good fitting bra
3-Cute comfy skirts
4- That it isn't necessary to wear a petticoat, corset etc.!

A new love
I love the flavor of Bubble gum, but it doesn't last. I love blowing bubbles (love it), but once I chew the Bubble gum for a while, I can't blow bubbles anymore, or at least it gets more difficult, so it's no fun.
I love the flavor of chewing gum, I usually prefer Spearmint, but...I can't blow bubbles with it. I love to pop my gum, which is a close second to blowing bubbles, but it's loud and sometimes annoying to the people around me!
Guess What!!!!
I've discovered Ice Breakers Ice Cubes!

The lovely minty flavor of a chewing gum that I can POP! AND...

Truly Amazing.
